(Kendra's post)
Well, it’s our last full day of our trip so the kids and Bob went down to the pool and I went on my search for show tickets to see Rick Thomas (magician with tigers). Got them for half price and we all went to the Stardust to see him. The show was really good, better than we thought and then the kids and I went to Fremont Street for a ‘just a girls nite out’. It was nice for Bob to have some R & R for a change.
We had to get the car washed since it was easy to locate in huge parking lots being that it was the dirtiest from all our ‘off the beaten path’ excursions, and there was one kid in a parking lot who said "eeewww" and pointed it out to his mom!. Trying to find a car wash in Vegas is hard since we were DOWNTOWN, not the strip. Not exactly a nice part of town and the gas station didn’t want to take my traveller’s cheques and that’s all I had with me so I begged and they did after phoning their boss. When I got back to the car a guy begged me to give him enough money for a gallon of gas so he could get the X@$%* outta there ( as he put it), I gave him a handful of change and he thanked me telling me that I as the only person that would help him. I kind of knew what he meant.
Had buffet dinner at the Golden Nugget and then had the "Fremont Street Experience". They have a huge ceiling full of about a gazillion lights and play images and music. The first was a salute to Good Ole’ America and then a rock & roll segment. The girls had fun and then I took them to the Mirage to see the Volcano and the Bellagio to see the fountains.
Actually, I bought 3 bottled waters (the smallest I’ve ever seen) and it cost $12. It’s amazing what you’ll do when you’re dying of thirst. When we left the Bellagio, we exited through one of those revolving doors and Kelsey put her foot on a part of the middle section and all of a sudden a POLITE, BOOMING voice came over the speaker saying, “PLEASE STEP FORWARD! THANK YOU!!” That was pretty funny watching her obey IMMEDIATELY.
We got back to the MGM at 1AM. Bob had the show girls out of the room by then.
It was a good wrap up to our Vegas trip.
